Please note there is another author by the name of Kathryn Kramer. Her website is kathrynkramer.org. She is the author of Sweet Water, Missing History, Rattlesnake Farming, and A Handbook for Visitors from Outer Space. If you have not already read these four novels, I highly recommend that you do so. They are available on Amazon and various book stores.
Imogen Duncan perceives herself as being plain because she wears spectacles and her overbearing mother has always made her feel inferior to her lovely younger sister. She is certain that she will remain a spinster with no chance of finding love until a case of mistaken identity and an accidental kiss brings her into the arms of Caleb.
Burying his guilt from a decade-old tragedy beneath a life of debauchery, Caleb Masters, Marquess of Willbridge, is content enough to meet willing widows in dark gardens to numb the pain. But he is wholly unprepared when an innocent miss stumbles into him, turning his superficial world on its head.
What starts out as friendship turns into love as Caleb helps Imogen see the beauty in the world around her and as she unleashes the strength in herself. Can a healing of the past lead to the promise of a future together?
Lady Emily Masters has harbored a secret infatuation for the dashing Malcolm Arborn, Viscount Morley since a childhood accident claimed the life of her twin brother and left her own face scarred. Ten years later fate brings them together again for her brother’s wedding. Malcolm has changed, however, and she is dismayed to find that he has become a surly rogue quick to quip and slow to trust.
Emily does not know that Caleb, her brother, has requested that Malcolm watch over her during the weeks leading up to the ceremony. Fearful that her scar will make her the center of attention to the visiting lords and ladies attending her brother's wedding, Emily proves to be a difficult charge for the stubborn bachelor.
Emily is not the only one who has a scar, however, This beautifully written story proves that emotional scars can be just as detrimental as those of a physical nature. Can they look beyond their past wounds to build a promising tomorrow?
Christina Britton is a bright and shining light---a wonderful writer. I enjoyed reading WITH LOVE IN SIGHT that centers on the relationship between the shy, bespectacled Miss Imogen Duncan, who's resigned to being a spinster, and the handsome, determined-not-to-wed Caleb Masters, Marquess of Willbridge.
THE VISCOUNT'S PROMISE centers on Caleb's sister, Emily, and his friend, Malcolm. One is suffering from a physical scar, the other an emotional scar that can't be seen--two wounded souls redeemed by love.
Christina's characters are the more compelling because they are NOT perfect people thus the love story blooms like the awakening of a rose. I am looking forward to reading more books by this author.

My mother, best friend, writing partner, and inspiration. She always guided me to take the right path and helped me turn my dreams into reality. Her sudden death of a stroke was shattering.
My friend and agent. He believed in me even when I did not believe in myself. His expertise was invaluable. Learning of his death was a devastating blow.
High School teacher, mentor, and friend. His patience, caring, and tutoring helped turn my shyness into confidence and set me on a path to follow my heart. His death of cancer was a tragic loss.
My father always gave me good advice (although I did not always take it). He was a good father and an inspiration. When I was writing about the hero in a novel he was an example of what a hero should be. His death was heart-breaking.
My grandmother was a strong woman with the daring of those ladies who helped tame the West. Her tenacity and daring were contagious. Although she lived to be 102, her death was still a great loss.
My stepfather was my dad who came into my life when I was five. He encouraged me to go after my dreams. His praise gave me the wings to fly! His death of cancer brought me back down to earth and changed the direction of my pathway.
Wynne was the pride of her Celtic tribe and the daughter of a powerful Druid. Though her tribe was peaceful she was aware that the Romans were her enemies. Why then did she risk her own life to save a dark-haired Roman soldier? What was it about the handsome stranger that called out to her soul, haunted her dreams, and prompted her to give up everything she treasured to be by his side?
Centurion Valerian Quillon had glimpsed death and knew his captors were going to burn him alive in a wicker cage, a sacrifice to their gods. Closing his eyes, succumbing to the potion he had been forced to swallow, he cursed the dark, shrouded figures whose chanting was driving him mad. In desperation he whispered a prayer to the Roman goddess Minerva goddess of war, to help him. Opening his eyes he was certain that the golden-haired beauty mounted on a black horse and wielding a sword had come to rescue him in answer to his plea. But though Valerian had escaped his bonds, he soon found that he was a prisoner nonetheless; a captive to the longing of his heart, body and his soul for the lovely Celtic temptress who was so gently tending his wounds.
But their new-found love was marked by heartache, treachery, lies and betrayal. Not satisfied with the subjugation of southern Britannia, the Romans had turned their eyes and army northward and were marching towards the land occupied by Wynne’s tribe.
This is the anniversary edition of Love’s Blazing Ecstasy
Historians have often neglected this other world, but life on the streets was as unique and colorful as it was full of sorrow and travail. Boisterous pleasure seekers and stealthy pickpockets rubbed elbows on crowded streets. Public buildings of importance were situated in the middle of steamy districts. Magnificent shops and houses were surrounded by badly lit alleyways swarming with thieves. As a thriving international seaport, London offered rich pickings for everyone from guttersnipes to hardened veterans of Newgate. London surpassed the rest of England in crime and vice.
Wealth and poverty existed side by side in early nineteenth-century London. Even so, it was not impossible to raise oneself to a higher standard of living, nor was it forbidden by law to dream. Hope is a sustaining human gift that grants to a young, parentless girl the strength to endure a harsh environment and the courage to envision new beginnings. In the midst of squalor and despair an act of kindness sparks a flame of love and brings a young pickpocket into the arms of a handsome, determined young architect.
They were from two different worlds in the same sphere. Garrick Seton was a rising young architect who lived among elegant people of wealth, in an era of opulence, beauty and social poise. Dawn Leighton was from the underworld of thieves, gamblers and rogues; those who pursued boisterous pleasure and preyed on the “rich pickings” the wealthy flaunted. Despite her circumstances, however, she knew it was not forbidden by law to dream of bettering herself. Because of her high aspirations, the others scoffed at her and called her “Lady Rogue”.
Garrick Seton was scornful of such a self-centered society and of the shallow people who were his peers. He was bored, that is until he opened his carriage door to a frightened and lovely young woman in flight from the law. She insisted that she did not steal the purse that fell from her tattered pockets onto the floor of his carriage. Beguiled by the innocence he read in her lovely green eyes, he shielded her and kept her from the cruel fate of Newgate Prison.
Despite the hope of a new beginning and the dream of love, however, savage treacheries threaten to shatter their dreams and break the heart of a lady……
Gypsies: The women were accomplished herbalists, the men skilled with animal healing—nature’s people. Unfortunately, the unsettled way of living of the Gypsy has created prejudice against them in many countries. People often fear what they do not understand. Thus they were accused of witchcraft, child-stealing, and thievery. The fact, instead, was that major crimes were rare among Gypsies.
The Gypsies were a persecuted people, driven out of many countries of Europe. Many were also killed. King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain were among those persecuting the Gypsies. In the edict of 1492 the Jews were expelled from the country and the Gypsies as well.
This, then, is the setting for my story of a young Gypsy girl and her love for a Spanish nobleman. Under Gypsy Skies they find a love far stronger than any earthly law, as timeless as eternity.
Gypsy. The very word brings forth a feeling of freedom, like the flowing rivers or the whispering wind. Alicia embraced the freedom of gypsy life and was proud to be the daughter of Rudolpho, the leader of the Gypsy caravan that was headed now for the forest outside the City of Toledo in Spain. It seemed to be just another night under the twinkling stars—until Alicia saved the life of a handsome stranger and found that what her grandmother had told her was right—if one saved another’s life, their souls would be joined for eternity.
Rafael de Villasandro might never have met the beautiful gypsy girl had he not been hit over the head, robbed, and thrown into the river. When he opened his eyes and realized that she had saved his life, he knew in that moment that she was somehow part of his destiny.
Torn between heart and heritage, they would be savagely parted. Abandoned—forced to leave her proud people, Alicia would be driven on alone. From the wilderness to the streets of a great city—from a clamorous world of the senses to a cloistered world of tradition—she would follow the thread that would revel a cherished secret. The secret that would aid her in her quest to save Rafael yet again as he braved the dangers of the Inquisition. Only at Queen Isabella’s court could they hope to find justice and a love far stronger than any earthly law.
A Nation in flames. A passion triumphant. The Civil War. An epic battle that pitted brother against brother, father against son, lover against lover.
It all started out so innocently. Bevin Cameron and Reeve Walker had been roommates at the university in Cambridge and had forged a strong friendship. At Harvard they had been just two students who had been able to put the conflict brewing between the North and South aside. Then, deciding to play “Cupid” between his stepsister and best friend, Bevin invited Reeve to spend the summer on his father’s plantation near Richmond, Virginia little realizing the havoc that would be unleashed.
Though Reeve was greeted with Southern hospitality, there was an undercurrent of tension as the Camerons waited to see if their state would be pulled into the quickly blossoming war. Reeve was viewed with suspicion that turned to hostility by some, but he found a kindred spirit in Allegra. When Virginia voted to secede from the Union to join with the Confederate States Reeve realized that the south was no place for a Northerner. Allegra found that she and her lover were suddenly in two different countries, two different worlds, as their lands prepared for war.
“Destiny and Desire is not only a beautiful romance, but a moving tribute to Southern womanhood and the awful pain, futility, and anguish of war. Ms. Kramer paints a powerful portrait of Richmond during the war. Her fabulous descriptions and fascinating historical details enrich a tender romance.”
The end of the Civil War. A time of bitterness and hardship in war-ravished Virginia. The “Old South” has died and the Reconstruction has begun. Amid the embers of the past new loves will be awakened and the future of a nation will be renewed.
Fighting the elements, carpetbaggers, over zealous bankers, and corrupt politicians, Derek Cameron struggles for the survival of Winding Oaks Plantation. Hoping to put the past transgressions of his family behind him he discovers a shattering secret that will threaten the lives of those he loves.
Amanda Seton, a pretty school teacher, will change Derek’s life and give him a lesson in true love. Risking her life to teach a young black child to read, she will battle fierce hatred and betrayal for the sake of her own soul.
Forest Faulkner, a young woman of mixed blood, remembers the day she was saved from the slave catchers by the efforts of a stranger. Her search for the truth of her heritage will change her life forever and touch the heart of her one true love.
Moses Douglass, a freed slave now a candidate for congress, reawakens an old love when his paths cross with a young woman who once showed him kindness on their journey to freedom on the Underground Railroad. Facing the menace of the Ku Klux Klan they will prove that courage and honesty are much stronger than hatred and fear.
Ashes and Awakenings is the fourth book in the Cameron Family Series
HIGHLAND GHOST
PIRATE BRIDE
DESTINY AND DESIRE
ASHES AND AWAKENINGS
England under Cromwell’s commonwealth was oppressive, colorless and boring, but beautiful Devondra Stafford’s life was vicariously exciting. Her father was the dashing Gentleman James, the Heath’s most gallant highwayman. But when James is captured and condemned to death upon the “Tyburn tree,” Devondra enters into a desperate bargain to share the bed of the sensual nobleman, Quentin Wakefield in exchange for her father’s life.
Quentin was intrigued with the woman with long dark hair and lovely hazel eyes who was as rare a jewel as ever stolen on the road. He wondered just what kind of woman Gentleman’s James’s only child really was—she who lived among thieves and murderers.
It didn’t really matter. He knew that her beauty and feigned innocence stirred his desires. No matter what promises he had to make, his obsession was to possess her.
It is a night of blossoming passions, a night neither can forget. But the heartache of betrayal, broken promises and the sight of her father hanging from the gallows, forces Devondra to take to the road as “The Notorious Lady”.
Rich stonework and tapestries surrounded them in the castle’s banquet hall, but Lady Madrigal and the stranger saw only each other. Stephen Valentine had come to seek an audience with the king, but had found the woman of his dreams—the daughter of his sworn enemy.
The attraction they felt for each other was even stronger than the love songs the minstrels sang about. To become lovers seemed to be his destiny…and hers. But treachery stalked the castle’s dark corridors and Madrigal was forced to desperately flee for her life.
Returning from Venice to seek an audience with Richard III, English nobleman, Stephen Valentine was soon to learn that his confiscated lands and property had been turned over to the king’s ward—Madrigal Renfred. In disappointment Stephen had no other choice but to return to the city of gondolas, canals, and courtesans, little realizing that the woman he has vowed to destroy was accompanying him, disguised as a minstrel.
Rosalinda Renaldo never intended to become a “bandido”. She merely wanted to save her bandito brother from the hated soldiers who held him prisoner. Now as the “Spanish Rose” she is forced to embrace a duel life—performing in a New Mexico cantina to spy on the uniformed men and taking on the disguise of “El Tigre.” She did not know that her careful plan would spin out of control when the handsome blonde captain she meant to charm seduces her in return.
When Captain Devin Wade saw the dark beauty move like liquid fire across the cantina floor, he was entranced and determined to be her lover. But when he found himself looking down the barrel of a gun, he discovered that not only did this rose have thorns but she also had a fierce protector as well.
Devin is determined to exact justice upon the bandido who is terrorizing the soldiers and making them look like fools. He curses the blue-eyed, masked robber who so mysteriously disappears after he has stolen their money, guns, and even their uniforms. That Rosalinda and the bandido are one and the same has never even crossed his mind, that is until she makes a mistake that will cost her dearly.
Against a backdrop of war and revolution a beautiful young woman of Spanish heritage must go up against not only the American soldiers but the ruthless Governor Armijo as well. Little does she know that her deception will lead her in a dance of passion that will hold her heart and her army captain’s heart and soul hostage.
Kathy and Marcia have a collection of dolls with the clothing worn in each particular book. All outfits were made by mother and daughter and are one of a kind. The dolls were helpful in understanding all facets of garments....even underwear.
